Sprinkled Sweets makes custom rice krispie treats on Staten Island for $45 a dozen. Every bar is made in house, hand dipped and decorated in your colors, then wrapped individually. Edible photo or logo printing adds $10 to $15 per dozen. Order two to three weeks ahead and pick up locally on Staten Island.
Why the rice krispie treat is the workhorse of a dessert table
Ask anyone who has run a party table and they will tell you the same thing. The pretty items get photographed and the rice krispie treats get eaten. They are the piece someone who does not want cake will still take, and the piece that survives an hour on a table in July.
What makes a custom one different from the box
The bars are made in house, pressed by hand, and cut thicker than the wrapped ones from the store. Then each one gets dipped and finished. That is where the color comes in.
- Full dip. The whole bar coated in one color, then a drizzle in a second color across the top. Cleanest look and the one that reads best in photos.
- Half dip. Coating on the bottom half, cereal showing on top, sprinkles pressed into the wet edge.
- Hand lettered. A name, an age, a date, or a short phrase written on top of the coating.
- Printed. A photo, a school logo, a team crest, or a company mark on the flat top of the bar.
- Shaped. Cut into squares, rectangles, or on a stick like a pop for a kid table.
Two colors keeps a table from looking busy. Pick the two from the invitation and let shape carry the variety.
How many to order
- With a cake and two other treat types: one bar per guest. Twenty four guests, two dozen.
- As part of the whole dessert: two per guest. Thirty guests, five dozen.
- As a takeaway favor: one per family, not per head. A 60 person party is usually about two and a half dozen.
- Kid heavy party: round up. Children take these first, adults take the pretzel rods.
There is more detail on counts in the guide to how many treats per person.

Storing them so they are right on the day
Keep them at room temperature in the wrapper, away from a sunny window and away from the stove. Three to four days is the honest window and day one or two is best. Do not put them in the refrigerator. Cold firms the cereal and pulls the moisture out, and a bar that spent a night in the fridge is noticeably harder than one that sat on the counter.
If the party is outdoors in August, keep the tray inside until people are ready to eat. The coating softens first. More in the guide to treat storage and freshness.
What people order them for
A few occasions lean on them harder than others. Communion and confirmation tables, where the guest list runs long. Sports banquets, where the bars get the jersey numbers on them. Fundraisers, where every piece has to be wrapped for resale. Baby showers, where a pastel dip matches the room. Corporate tables, where the flat top is the easiest surface for a logo.
They also carry a photo well. A wide flat rectangle gives a printed image more room than a round Oreo does, so if the whole point is a face on the treat, ask about edible photo printing on the bars.
Timing
Two to three weeks ahead for a normal order, six to eight weeks for wedding favors. Everything is made fresh close to your date, so the calendar fills by date. Spring is tightest because of communion and graduation season. If your date is sooner, text anyway.
How ordering works
