Rice Krispie Treats

Custom Rice Krispie Treats on Staten Island

Thick homemade bars, hand dipped and decorated in your party colors, individually wrapped and ready for pickup.

The short answer

Sprinkled Sweets makes custom rice krispie treats on Staten Island for $45 a dozen. Every bar is made in house, hand dipped and decorated in your colors, then wrapped individually. Edible photo or logo printing adds $10 to $15 per dozen. Order two to three weeks ahead and pick up locally on Staten Island.

Why the rice krispie treat is the workhorse of a dessert table

Ask anyone who has run a party table and they will tell you the same thing. The pretty items get photographed and the rice krispie treats get eaten. They are the piece someone who does not want cake will still take, and the piece that survives an hour on a table in July.

What makes a custom one different from the box

The bars are made in house, pressed by hand, and cut thicker than the wrapped ones from the store. Then each one gets dipped and finished. That is where the color comes in.

Two colors keeps a table from looking busy. Pick the two from the invitation and let shape carry the variety.

Storing them so they are right on the day

Keep them at room temperature in the wrapper, away from a sunny window and away from the stove. Three to four days is the honest window and day one or two is best. Do not put them in the refrigerator. Cold firms the cereal and pulls the moisture out, and a bar that spent a night in the fridge is noticeably harder than one that sat on the counter.

If the party is outdoors in August, keep the tray inside until people are ready to eat. The coating softens first. More in the guide to treat storage and freshness.

What people order them for

A few occasions lean on them harder than others. Communion and confirmation tables, where the guest list runs long. Sports banquets, where the bars get the jersey numbers on them. Fundraisers, where every piece has to be wrapped for resale. Baby showers, where a pastel dip matches the room. Corporate tables, where the flat top is the easiest surface for a logo.

They also carry a photo well. A wide flat rectangle gives a printed image more room than a round Oreo does, so if the whole point is a face on the treat, ask about edible photo printing on the bars.

Timing

Two to three weeks ahead for a normal order, six to eight weeks for wedding favors. Everything is made fresh close to your date, so the calendar fills by date. Spring is tightest because of communion and graduation season. If your date is sooner, text anyway.

Common questions

How much are custom rice krispie treats on Staten Island?
Custom rice krispie treats from Sprinkled Sweets are $45 a dozen, hand dipped and decorated in your colors. Adding an edible printed photo or logo brings it to $55 to $60 a dozen. Party packages that include rice krispie treats start at $150.
How many rice krispie treats should I order?
Plan on one per guest if there is a cake and other treats on the table, and two per guest if the treats are the whole dessert. For 24 guests that is two dozen. For a 50 person party most people order three to four dozen alongside Oreos and pretzel rods.
Are they homemade or store bought?
The bars are made in house, pressed and cut by hand, then dipped and decorated. They are thicker and softer than the wrapped ones from the store, which is the main reason people notice them on the table.
Can you put a name or a photo on a rice krispie treat?
Yes. Names and short phrases are hand lettered on top. Photos and logos are done with edible photo printing, which adds $10 to $15 per dozen. A rectangle bar is one of the better shapes for a printed image because the surface is flat and wide.
How long do they stay fresh?
Three to four days at room temperature in the wrapper, kept out of the sun. Do not refrigerate them, the cold firms up the cereal and dries the bar out. Most orders are picked up the day before the party.
Do you deliver, or is it pickup only?
Local pickup on Staten Island. Trays are packed flat so the bars do not slide on the ride home. Text 718-715-5740 to set a pickup window.
