Sprinkled Sweets makes dance recital treats on Staten Island for class trays, backstage boxes, and teacher gifts: decorated Oreos, pretzel rods, rice krispie treats, jumbo marshmallows, cake pops, and cakesicles. Pricing starts at $40 a dozen and packages start at $150. One dozen covers a class of 12 dancers. Order two to three weeks ahead, local pickup.
What a recital order usually looks like
Recital treats are a handout, not a dessert table. Most of these orders end up in a dressing room or a studio lobby, passed out to dancers in full costume with their hair done. So two things matter: individual wrapping and a flat surface for lettering. Every piece leaves here sealed in its own bag with a ribbon, so nothing lands on a costume.
- Custom Oreos at $45 a dozen are the workhorse. Flat top, so a studio name, the year, or a dancer's name reads clean.
- Pretzel rods at $40 a dozen are the cheapest way to fill a class tray, and easy to hand out fast.
- Rice krispie treats at $45 a dozen hold up in a warm room better than anything else on the menu.
- Jumbo marshmallows at $45 to $55 a dozen have room for a tutu or ballet slipper design.
- Cake pops and cakesicles are special order and work best as the teacher or soloist gift.
Designs that come up every June
The requests repeat because they read from across a room. Ballet slippers with the ribbon laces. A tutu in the studio's two colors. A tap shoe. Break a Leg in gold script. The recital year, big. For competition teams, the team name and the placement.
Studio colors do more work than any single design. Pull the two colors off the studio sign or the costume. Three treat types in two colors looks planned.
How many to order
- One class, 12 to 15 dancers: one dozen plus two or three spares. Around $45.
- Two or three classes, 30 to 40 dancers: the Classic package at $225, four dozen across four types.
- Full studio recital, 60 to 80 dancers: the Deluxe package at $325, about six dozen, one piece each with room left.
- Competition team, 8 to 12 dancers: a dozen decorated Oreos with names, plus a dozen pretzel rods.
Count dancers, not seats. If you also want something in the lobby for families, add a dozen pretzel rods per 25 people.

Putting the studio logo on them
Hand lettering covers names, studio names, the year, and short phrases at no extra charge. A logo, a team crest, or a photo of the dancer in costume is edible photo printing, and it adds $10 to $15 a dozen. Send the logo as a PNG if you have one. For a group order where every dancer gets her own name, plan on custom Oreos. Names fit on pretzel rods too, but the surface is narrow, so first names only.
The teacher gift
Almost every recital order comes with a second ask: something for the teacher. A ribbon tied box of a dozen decorated Oreos with her name on them is $45, packed separately so a parent can hand it over on stage without digging through the class tray. If a few families go in together, the Petite package at $150 makes a proper gift box. More ideas on the teacher appreciation page.
Timing and backstage care
Two to three weeks ahead. May and June are the tightest weeks of the year here, because recital season lands on top of graduations and communions, so a June date should be on the calendar by early May. Treats are made fresh close to your date and picked up on Staten Island the day before or the morning of.
Keep the box out of direct sun in the car and out of the stage lights in the dressing room. A cool corner is enough. Sealed pieces keep about two weeks, so leftovers go home with the dancers.
