Block Party Treats on Staten Island

Individually wrapped treats in your block colors, made to sit on an outdoor table all afternoon without falling apart.

The short answer

Sprinkled Sweets makes individually wrapped treats for Staten Island block parties: decorated Oreos, pretzel rods, rice krispie treats and jumbo marshmallows in your colors, starting at $40 a dozen. Figure two pieces per person, so eight dozen for a block of 50 and the $325 Deluxe package for 100 or more. Order two to three weeks before your permit date and pick up on Staten Island the morning of.

Why a block party dessert table is its own thing

A block party is not a party in a hall. The table is outside for four or five hours, people walk up with sticky hands, and half the guests are kids. Anything with buttercream on it is a bad idea by two in the afternoon.

What works is a treat you can pick up with one hand, that is already wrapped, and that holds its shape at eighty degrees. Pretzel rods, decorated Oreos, rice krispie treats and jumbo marshmallows all pass. Cakesicles and cake pops are better for an indoor table or a shaded tent.

How many treats for a Staten Island block

Block parties skew high on headcount and low on how much any one person eats, because there is usually a grill and a cooler competing for stomach space. Two pieces per person is the number that works.

If four other houses are bringing cakes and cookies, cut those numbers by about a third. More in the guide to how many treats per person.

Individually wrapped is not optional outside

Everything can come heat sealed in a clear wrapper. It keeps the treats clean, lets a kid grab one and keep moving, and means whatever is left at six o'clock goes home with somebody instead of into the garbage. Pretzel rods at $40 a dozen are the cheapest way to fill a wrapped tray.

Colors and lettering for a block

Most blocks pick two colors and stick to them, usually red white and blue for a summer date or the colors of the local school. Street names, block numbers and short lines like Annadale Ave Block Party 2026 are hand lettered onto the Oreos at no extra charge. If your block association has a logo or you want a photo of the street on the treats, that is edible photo printing and it adds $10 to $15 a dozen.

If the block party doubles as a fundraiser for a school or a family on the street, the fundraiser treat guide has the cost per piece against resale price so you know what to charge.

Timing around your street permit

Staten Island block party permits get locked in months ahead, so you know your date early. Order two to three weeks out. Summer Saturdays are the busiest dates on my calendar. Treats are made fresh close to your date and picked up on Staten Island, usually the morning of.

Common questions

How much do treats for a block party cost on Staten Island?
Pretzel rods are $40 a dozen and custom Oreos, rice krispie treats and jumbo marshmallows are $45 a dozen. Marshmallows run $45 to $55 depending on the design. Most blocks land on the Classic package at $225 or the Deluxe at $325.
How many treats do I need for a block party?
Plan on two pieces per person. For 50 neighbors that is about eight dozen, which the Classic package at $225 covers. For 100 to 150 neighbors the Deluxe package at $325 plus a few extra dozen pretzel rods is the usual order.
Can the treats be individually wrapped for an outdoor table?
Yes. Everything can come individually wrapped and heat sealed, which is what I recommend for any table sitting outside. It keeps the treats clean and lets people grab one and keep walking.
Will the treats melt sitting outside in July or August?
Keep the tray in the shade and put out one dozen at a time, refilling from a cooler with ice packs. Set the box on top of the ice packs, not against them, so nothing sweats.
Can you put our street name or block association on the treats?
Yes. Street names, block numbers and short phrases are hand lettered onto the Oreos at no extra charge. A logo or a photo is edible photo printing and adds $10 to $15 a dozen.
How far ahead do I need to order for a block party?
Two to three weeks. Summer Saturdays book up fast, so as soon as your street permit date is set, text 718-715-5740 and I will hold it with a 50% retainer.
