Nurse and First Responder Treats on Staten Island

Individually wrapped thank you treats for a nurses station, a firehouse kitchen or a precinct break room, with the patch or logo printed right on them.

The short answer

Sprinkled Sweets makes appreciation treats for Staten Island nurses, FDNY, NYPD and EMS crews: individually wrapped Oreos, pretzel rods, rice krispie treats and jumbo marshmallows in department colors, with the patch or hospital logo printed on top. Pretzel rods are $40 a dozen and Oreos are $45 a dozen. A full unit or firehouse of 25 to 30 people is covered by the $225 Classic package. Order two to three weeks ahead and pick up on Staten Island.

Why wrapped treats work better than a cake here

A sheet cake means somebody has to cut it, somebody has to find plates, and half of it dries out before the night shift ever sees it. People on a hospital floor or in a firehouse eat standing up, in three minutes, between calls.

Wrapped treats solve that. Each piece is sealed on its own, so a nurse coming off a twelve hour shift can grab one on the way to the locker room and the tray still looks full for the crew coming in at seven. Nothing needs refrigeration and nothing needs serving.

What to order for a thank you tray

The mix most people land on is two dozen pretzel rods, two dozen Oreos with the logo, and a dozen rice krispie treats. See the full price list for the package math.

Putting the patch or the logo on them

An FDNY engine and ladder number, an NYPD precinct shield, a hospital or urgent care logo, a union local, a squad photo from a graduation class. All of it prints. That is edible photo printing and it adds $10 to $15 a dozen. Send the cleanest image you have, ideally a PNG straight from the department rather than a screenshot, and I will scale it to the treat.

If you do not have artwork, hand lettering works fine. Department colors with a hand written "thank you" or a shift name reads just as well and costs nothing extra. Same logo work as the corporate logo treats page, aimed at a house or a floor instead of an office.

How many to order

The number people get wrong is the roster. You are not feeding the people on shift when you walk in, you are feeding everyone who rotates through that room over the next two days.

Rule of thumb: one and a half pieces per person on the roster. That covers the ones who take a second, which they will.

The dates that book up

Nurses Week runs the first full week of May and it is the busiest week of the year for these orders. The days around September 11 fill up early on Staten Island for obvious reasons, and I hold room for those. EMS Week in May, a retirement, a promotion, a probie graduation, or the end of a long stretch on a unit are the rest of it.

Two to three weeks of notice is what I need. If your date is tighter than that, text me anyway and I will tell you what is actually open rather than making you guess. There is more on that on the short notice page.

Getting them to the building

Everything is picked up locally on Staten Island. Trays are packed flat so nothing slides in the car, and one order can be split across two labeled trays if you are dropping at a hospital and a firehouse on the same run. Wrapped treats hold at room temperature for about two weeks.

Common questions

How much do nurse and first responder appreciation treats cost on Staten Island?
Individually wrapped pretzel rods are $40 a dozen and custom Oreos and rice krispie treats are $45 a dozen. The Petite package is $150, the Classic is $225 and the Deluxe is $325. A full shift of 25 to 30 people is usually covered by the Classic package.
Can you print a firehouse, precinct or hospital logo on the treats?
Yes. Edible photo printing puts a department patch, engine number, precinct shield or hospital logo directly on the treat and adds $10 to $15 per dozen. Send the highest resolution image you have and I will size it.
Are the treats individually wrapped for a break room?
Yes. Every piece can be wrapped and sealed on its own, which is what you want for a nurses station or a firehouse kitchen where people grab one on the way past. There is no extra charge for wrapping.
How many treats do I need for a hospital unit or a firehouse?
Count the whole roster, not the people on shift. A single unit or a firehouse usually runs 25 to 40 people across the rotation, so three to four dozen covers it. A larger department or a full floor is closer to six to eight dozen.
How far ahead do I need to order?
Two to three weeks. Nurses Week in May and the days around September 11 book up first on Staten Island, so give those dates extra room. Text 718-715-5740 if your date is sooner and I will tell you honestly what is open.
Can I split one order across two locations?
Yes. Trays can be packed and labeled separately so you can drop one at the firehouse and one at the hospital from the same pickup. Just tell me the split when you send your details.
